Emily (Stobbs) Lowman, age 88, of Worthington, died Friday, August 14, 1998 at the Wesley Glen Retirement Center. She was a dedicated volunteer to the Village of Worthington and active member of the Worthington United Methodist Church. Attended The Ohio State University from 1929 to 1933. Member of the Worthington Historical Society, Worthington Women's Club, Olde Worthington Association, and the Worthington Senior Citizens. Preceded in death by her husband John C. Lowman. She is survived by her children, Judith (Thomas) Jones of Sunbury, Janet Fox of Worthington, J. Phillip Lowman of Bloomfield Hills, Mich. and Jeffrey (Lee Ann) Lowman of Summit, N.J.; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren sisters Doris Morrison of Martins Ferry, Oh., Roberta Mitchell of Colerain, Oh., Hesther Lash of Bridgeport, Oh., and Barbara McFarland of Granville, Oh.; brother Donald Stobbs of Colerain, Oh., Hugh Stobbs of Springfield, Oh., and Roy Stobbs of Sanford, Fla. a memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, August 17, 1998 in the Potter Chapel of the Worthington United Methodist Church, 600 High St., Worthington. Friends may call at the Rutherford-Corbin Funeral Home, 515 High St., Worthington, on Sunday from 4-7 p.m. Private interment Walnut Grove Cemetery. The family requests in lieu flowers that memorial contributions be made to the Bicentennial Fund c/o the Worthington Women's Club, The Worthington Historical Society or the Church Women United c/o the Worthington United Methodist Church.
