LONG Elizabeth Marie Long (nee Staudt), age 82, formerly of Worthington, died Wednesday, November 3, 2004 at her new home at Friendship Village, Dublin. She was an Alumna of Mt. Marie College, Canton, a talented sculptor, the author of two books on cooking American dishes with ingredients found in foreign countries, a past President of International Women's Club of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and the American Women's Club of Hamburg, Germany, an honorary citizen of Schabint (Munich) Germany. She was also volunteer hot line coordinator for the former Columbus TeleMom organization, and a developer of programs with the former Worthington Resource Center. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Worthington (a former member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Columbus), the Worthington Historical Society, Worthington Library book club, the Worthington Senior Center current events program, the Upper Arlington Senior Center cardio program, and was founder of the Worthington VFW widows monthly breakfast. She was preceded in death by her parents Thurman and Kathryn Staudt, formerly of Canton, sister Dorothy Smith and grandson Paul Bailey. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Richard, with whom she lived for many years in Washington D.C. and Europe and Africa, as members of the U.S. Diplomatic Service; daughters, Victoria (Laurence) Bohlman of Bel Air, MD, Suzanne (William) Bailey of Anderson, SC and Kathryn (Timothy) Conrad of Worthington; grandchildren, Brian, Daniel and Matthew Bohlman, James, Anne and John Bailey, and David, Michael and Jonathan Conrad; great-granddaughters, Aisling Bailey and Mary Ellen Bohlman; sisters, Mary Kathryn Hogan of Murrells Inlet, SC, Margaret Ann Kelly of Enid, OK, Nancy Hettler of Pawleys Island, SC and Patricia Ann (James) Mullen of Henderson, NV; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the NOVAK FUNERAL HOME, 4476 N. High St., (two blocks north of Henderson Rd.), 268-8811. A Vigil service will be at 4:30 p.m. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday, St. Michael Catholic Church, 5750 N. High St., Worthington. Msgr. David Sorohan and Fr. Joseph Klee, concelebrants. Interment Walnut Grove Cemetery.
