Wallace Frederick Life (Wally) 83, died Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Willow Brook Christian Village. Born August 7, 1933 in Binghamton, New York to the late Floyd and Emma Life. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, C. Willard Life. Wally grew up in Clintonville and later in Worthington, Ohio. After graduating from Worthington High School, he attended The Ohio State University before entering the United States Army where he served for two years. Returning from the Army, he attended The College of The Americas in Puebla, Mexico, graduating with a degree in Spanish and Business, after which he graduated cum laude with a Master’s Degree in International Business and Portuguese from The American School of International Business in Phoenix. Arizona. He delivered the valedictory address in Portuguese. In 1960, he joined The Goodyear International Corporation spending thirty years at Goodyear’s overseas operations in Argentina, Peru, Brazil, South Africa and India. He retired from Goodyear in 1991, returning to live in Worthington, Dublin and Delaware, Ohio. While living overseas he was always very active in the local American Chamber of Commerce and other civic affairs. Wally was an avid fisherman, bird hunter and bird watcher. He loved all associated with nature and the out of doors. During retirement, he did extensive volunteer work, his favorite effort being The New Life United Methodist Church. He and Caroline continued to travel ad greatly enjoyed their trips to Italy and France. While growing up he attended and sang in the choir at North Broadway United Methodist Church, later becoming a member of The Worthington United Methodist Church. He was a great believer in the Lord. He is survived and will be greatly missed by his wife of 55 years, Caroline, daughter Julie (Ronald) Clark, granddaughter Elizabeth Jayne (Jonathan) Schrand of Charlotte, North Carolina, Katherine Emma Clark of Anneville, Pennsylvania, Rebecca Ann Clark of Hershey, Pennsylvania; Also, sister-in-law Kay Life of Westfield, Massachusetts, three nieces, one nephew, grand-nieces and nephews; cousins, the Bell Family of Western New York State as well as many dear friends. A private service will be held at a later date.
