Mark S. Leppert, age 67, of Worthington, Ohio passed away at his home on Thursday, December 8, 2022 following a brief illness. He was born September 22, 1955 to Frank and Martha Leppert. Mark was a life-long resident of Worthington, graduating from Worthington High School in 1974. Following graduation he attended Miami University, Oxford, and The Ohio State University. He retired January 1, 2022 from Sedwick Claims Management Services as a Rate Analyst. His career spanned 44 years in various positions in the workers’ compensation services industry. He is a member of Linworth United Methodist Church and served as the former Coordinator of Worthington Special Olympics. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Susan Leppert; children Stephanie Leppert, Madeline (Philip) Wessinger, and Christian Leppert; grandson, Parker Wessinger. Siblings Michael (Liz) Leppert of Greensboro, GA, Patricia (Floyd) Funderburg of Summerville, SC, David Leppert of Columbus, Teresa (Michael) Squillace of Dublin, and Matthew (Margaret) Leppert of Gahanna. Brother in-laws Rodney (Pamela) Willard of Baltimore, OH and Scott (Tami) Willard of Obetz and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Martha Leppert and in-laws Richard and Lula Willard.

Mark had many talents and enjoyed cooking and perfecting his grilling skills. He was an avid Ohio State football fan and treasured his annual family vacations in Kiawah Island, SC. A true animal lover, he showed compassion for all animals and over his lifetime had many pets including dogs, cats, frogs, turtles, an alligator, chickens and birds. Family and friends will miss his wonderful sense of humor and the laughter he brought to those closest to him. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Mark’s favorite organizations: Worthington Special Olympics, 4100 Kenny Rd., Columbus, Ohio 43220 or the Down Syndrome Association of Central Ohio (DSACO), 510 East North Broadway, Columbus, OH 43214.

Visitation will be 4-7 pm on Wednesday, December 14 at Rutherford Corbin Funeral Home, 515 High St., Worthington. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 am, Thursday, December 15 at Linworth United Methodist Church, 7070 Bent Tree Blvd, Columbus. Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery, Worthington.
