Robert P. Laux, age 53. Died Wednesday at Riverside Hospital. He was a partner in the agency of Elliott, Laux and Timko. Survived by wife, Nancy; son and daughter-in-law, Philip P. and Candace Ann Laux, West Lafayette, Ind.; daughter, Miss Susan Elizabeth Laux, Columbus; grandson, Kyle Avery Laux. Member of Masonic Blue Lodge, Commandery, Knight Templars, Scottish Rite, Aladdin Temple Shrine. He served in the Pacific Theater. He was active in Scouting for over 30 years and was the founder of Scout Troop No. 69 at Tremont School. He was a member of the Columbus Council of Boys Scouts of America and received many awards, including Eagle Scout Award, Silver Beaver Award and the Scout Master's Key. Funeral service 11 a.m. Saturday at Schoedinger Northwest Chapel, 1740 Zollinger Rd., where friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. Saturday until time of service. Rev. Chalmers Coe officiating. Interment Walnut Grove Cemetery. Family suggests contributions may be made to the Boys Scouts of America in his memory.
