LANE Margaret Jane (Owen) Lane, passed away Monday, May 5, 2003 at her home after a long battle with Lou Gehrig's Disease (ALS). Preceded in death by parents Louise and William V. Owen Sr. Survived by husband, Daniel R. Lane; sister, Betty L. Owen; brothers, William V. (Eileen) Owen, Jr., Richard S. (Sara) Owen and Edgar James (Phyllis) Owen; sisters-in-law, Nancy J. (Gene) Moon and Marilyn (Frank) Foglio; many loving nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and many caring friends and associates. Graduated from North High School and The Ohio State University. Retired Social Worker licensed with the State of Ohio with many years of service with the Y.W.C.A., Alfred Willson Children's Center, Department of Health and Human Services, training Social Workers across the United States in Indo-Chinese Refugee Relocation Program, The Ohio State University Hospitals, Columbus Cancer Clinic and parttime with the Hospice at Riverside/Grant. She also served as the Assistant Director of Volunteers at The Ohio State University Hospitals following a number of years as a dedicated volunteer where she received the J.C. Penney Golden Rule Award and the coveted Mary E. Shoemaker Award for Outstanding Volunteer Service. Jane assisted with the leadership of grief support groups for the Hospice at Riverside/Grant. A member of Overbrook Presbyterian Church, she served as a Deacon, Elder and leader of Stephen Ministries. Owner and manager of the Lane's Coach House, a gift and decorative asscessies shop for 20 years in Worthington. Friends may call Wednesday 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. at Overbrook Presbyterian Church, 4131 N. High St., where the funeral will be held Thursday 10:30 a.m. Rev. William R. Leety officiating. Interment Walnut Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Overbrook Presbyterian Church, Hospice at Riverside/Grant or the Columbus Office of the ALS Association.
