Jacob R. (Rudy) Koenig, age 86, September 5, 1994 at Friendship Village Columbus. Preceded in death by first wife Wilda Rousculp Koenig, his parents, three brothers and one sister. Survived by wife, Bertha Wetzel Edmonds Koenig; son, Dr. David (Julie) Koenig of Lowman, NY; daughter, Nancy (Dr. Paul) Wiesner, Atlanta, Ga.; granddaughter, Jennifer Koenig and grandson, Ryan Koenig of Lowman, NY; step-grandsons, Andrew and Matthew Wiesner; brother, Frank (Jean) Koenig of Powell; sister, Harriet Jones of Worthington; several nieces and nephews. Following graduation from Ohio State University in 1931, Mr. Koenig joined the sales staff of Ginn and Co., publishers of college and school textbooks. In 1940 he began his career with Nationwide Insurance Companies, and at the time of his retirement in 1973 he was senior vice-president, office of the president. He was a member of Worthington United Methodist Church, Scottish Rite Grove City Lodge #689 fifty year member, Knights Templar Columbus Commandery #69, Benjamin Franklin Chapter of Sons of the American Revolution, Alpha Tau Omega fraternity, Columbus Maennerchor, the OSU Faculty Club, Ohio Historical Society and Worthington Historical Society. Friends may call at Weir-Arend Funeral Home, 4221 N. High Street, (3 blocks south of Henderson Rd.), Columbus, Ohio 43214 on Wednesday September 7, 1994 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Memorial service will be held Thursday September 8, 1994, 11:00 a.m. at Worthington United Methodist Church, 600 High Street, Worthington, Ohio 43085. Rev. Robert Chiles and Dr. Edge Dixon officiating. Private interment Walnut Grove Cemetery.
