KNOST Ray Francis Knost, age 89, of Worthington died Sunday, September 8, 2002 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Son of Albert and Edna (Fisher) Knost of Worthington. Former president of the Ohio Consulting Company. Veteran of the Army Air Corps WWII, he participated in the D-Day Invasion and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Air Medal, the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. Member of the Brookside Country Club, the American Legion and the Worthington Methodist Church. Preceded in death by brothers William, Carl, and Richard. Survived by his wife of 57 years, Mildred (Smathers); daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Louis Bragaw of Bedford, MA, son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Debbie Knost of Westerville; grandson, Cadet Ben Knost, U.S. Air Force Academy; granddaughters, Trisha and Molly Knost; sister-in-law, Ethel Knost; nieces, Sandy Nicholson, Betty Lou Phares and Edith Mitchell; and nephew, William Hamilton. Friends may call 5 - 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, Worthington Chapel, 515 High St., Worthington, OH.
