Arthur Ray Johnson, age 86, of Columbus, Wednesday, April 15, 1998 at Marfair Village. Taught instrumental music in Columbus Public School for 28 years. Preceded in death by Parents and sister Mary Eileen Woodyard. Survived by wife of 56 years, Gloria of Columbus; son, Fred (Carolyn) Johnson, Columbia, Md.; daughter Victoria Summers of Columbus; grandchildren, Sonja Miliacca and Adrienne Tabakow. Member of Indian Run UMC, Retired Teachers Assocation, University lodge #631 F&AM, Until the last few years, he was active in the Worthington Civic Band, Golden Buckeye Band, Jack McAndrews Band and directed his own group, Golden Tones. He was an avid fan of Jack Nicklaus and belonged to the Geritol League, Hidden Valley, in Delaware. Funeral service 1:30 p.m. at the Rutherford-Corbin Chapel, 515 High St., Worthingon, where family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until service time Friday. Burial Walnut Grove Cmetery.
