HOMAN Dorothy May Homan, of Columbus, devoted wife and loving mother, passed away May 14 at her home at the Forum of Knightsbridge after a prolonged illness. Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents Harry R. and Hattie May Beard, and a brother Harry R. Beard Jr. Dorothy was born in Clermont County outside of Cincinnati and moved to Dayton in 1939. She is survived by her husband of nearly 62 years, Marvin; daughter, Jane and son-in-law Logan Parrott of Campbellsville, KY; and by a son, David and daughter-in-law Joy Homan of Delray Beach, FL. There are six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one niece and three nephews. Dorothy loved her family and her church. She loved cooking and working with flowers, and her beloved Pug, Mai-Ling. She loved to travel, especially to the Pacific Northwest, and made two memorable trips to Europe. She was a loyal fan of Ohio State football and basketball, rarely missing a home game in 53 years. A member of North Community Lutheran Church, Dorothy and Marvin lived in Worthington 48 years before moving to the Forum in 2007. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18, at the RUTHERFORD CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, 515 High Street in Worthington, where funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Pastor Christopher Adams officiating. Interment following at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Worthington. The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to the kind, loving care of the Memory Care Unit at the Forum and to the devoted professional care provided by Harbor Light Hospice. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Harbor Light Hospice, 751 Brooksedge Plaza Dr., Westerville, OH 43081 in her memory.
