James Jay Hill, age 67, passed away on February 17, 1997 at Riverside Methodist Hospital after a 3 year battle with cancer. Jim was a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, Class of 1954 and subsequently served in the U.S. Air Force. He married his home town sweetheart, Barbara Dee Davis in 1955 and they completed tours in South Carolina and Germany before leaving active service and begining a multi-faceted business career throughout the Midwest. Settling with his family in Worthington in 1971, Jim began a new career in real estate from which he retired in 1994. He is preceded in death by his father Max L. Hill & mother Leora A. Hill. Survived bywife of 41 years, Barbara; sons, Jim (Aiko) of San Diego, Calif., John (Karen) of Chicago, Ill. and Jack (Peggy) of Washington, D.C.; 6 grandchildren with another due in March; brother, Max (June) of Charleston, S.C.; sister, Maxine (Bill) of Simi Valley, Calif. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, February 21, 1997 at the Worthington Presbyterian Church, 773 High St. Worthington with Dr. Phillip
Hazelton officiating. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday ath the Rutherford-Corbin Funeral Home, 515 High St., Worthington. Interment Walnut Grove Cemetery.
