Richard L. “Dick” Helpman, age 87 long time resident of Worthington, departed this life Thursday, August 3, 2017 at home in Mesa, AZ. Born May 25, 1930. He was born to the late John L. and Hallie F. (Yohe) Helpman and is also preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Nancy A. (Zimmer) Helpman; sisters, Dorothy Wendell and Anne Green and brother, Roland Helpman. Survived by children, Richard (Virginia) Helpman, Worthington, Ohio, Daniel Helpman, Mesa, Arizona, Kenneth Helpman, Columbus, Ohio and Debra Evans, Mt. Sterling, Ohio; grandchildren, Sarah (Ryan) Goodman, Joseph (Hannah) and Ellen Helpman, Ashley (Taylor) Linebaugh and Emiley Evans; great-grandchildren, Connor and Grayson Goodman; Mackenzie and Cadence Linebaugh and Ellis Helpman. Retired from G. & J. Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company, Columbus, Ohio and Worthington Schools (Bus Driver). Veteran U. S. Army (Korean War). Member of New England Lodge #4, F. & A. M. (Worshipful Master 1980, Lodge Secretary from 1981-2001); Horeb-Wright Chapter #3, R. A. M.; Columbus Council #8, R. & S. M.; Mt. Vernon Commandery #1, K.T. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, 515 High Street, Worthington where the Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, August 10, 2017. Rev. Torry Gligora, officiating. A private burial will be held later at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
