Gene W. Hall, age 88 of Rocklin, CA passed away on November 18, 2006. Born December 26, 1918 in Quaker City, Ohio, Gene was a graduate of Columbus North High School, Class of 1937. As a WWII veteran of the US Army, Gene had a total 33 years of government service. After WWII, Gene worked for the Defense Construction Supply Center in Columbus, Ohio where he began his career as a supervisor in the Engineering Supply Section and retired in 1975 as Chef of the Value Engineering Office. In retirement, Gene and his wife, Mary Jane enjoyed "Air streaming" for over 20 years while living in Clearwater, Florida. Gene was a 50 plus year member of University Lodge No. 631, F&AM, and a member of Scottish Rite and Shrine. He was past commander of the American Legion Post 82. Past member of North Broadway United Methodist Church. Survived by wife of 63 years, Mary Jane Hall; his children, William (Sharon) Hall of Orangevale, CA and Susan (William) Cohen of San Mateo, CA; grandchildren, Christopher (Sylvia) Hall of Roseville, CA and Craig (Jennifer) Hall of Fair Oaks, CA; 5 great grandchildren; and brother, Harry (Ann) Hall of Lewis Center, Ohio. Family will receive friends at Southwick-Good & Fortkamp Funeral Chapel, 3100 N. High Street Thursday, November 30th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. (Masonic service 4:00 p.m.). Graveside service and interment Friday (12/01), 10:00 a.m. at Walnut Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Gene's memory be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 3380 Tremont Road, Columbus, Ohio 43221.
