Worthington Boy Killed
The body of Arvi Grooms, son of Ewing Grooms arrived in Worthington Thursday morning and burial was made in Walnut Grove cemetery.

Grooms was 22 years old and has served at Santiago, Cuba, as a member of the Seventh Regiment of the Fifty-ninth Division. Some weeks ago he was working with several other soldiers, making a cave in a sand hill. There was an avalanche of sand from above, 2000 tons falling upon Grooms and pinning him to the ground. He was rescued and taken to the hospital, where he was able to get about, when he had a relapse six weeks ago and died.

The youth had served one and one-half years in the army. He is survived by a sister and a brother also.
