FRIDAY Dale T. Friday, 90, of Worthington, died Sunday, October 7, 2001 at Whetstone Care Center. He was born May 15, 1911 in Lexington to William and Mary (Barnette) Friday and was Professor Emeritus in Agronomy at The Ohio State University where he graduated with a B.S., 1932, M.S., 1942, Ph.D., 1991. In 1932 his career began teaching vocational agriculture in Belleville, Oh. at the local high school. He served as a County Cooperative Extension Service Agent in Putnam County, Oh. He worked as an agronomist and public relations representative with Allied Chemical Company and from 1962 until his retirement in 1981, he served as the manager for The Ohio State Farm Science Review which he was nationally respected for his part in organizing. During that time it became one of the most outstanding farm shows in the country. The distinctive honors he held included being an original inductee into the Agricultural Hall of Fame, served as President of Alpha Gamma Sigma, North American Farm Council President, Worthington Historical Society President, Mansfield Lodge #35 F&AM, Scioto Consistory A.A.S.R. - Valley of Columbus, Aladdin Shrine Temple and longtime parishioner of Worthington Methodist Church. Preceded in death by Dorothy (Riel), his wife of 56 years and his great-grandson Trent Shroyer. Survived by daughter, Harriett Shroyer of Minneapolis, Minn.; granddaughter, Nicole (Mazen) Halabi; grandsons, William (Kathleen) Shroyer and Justin (Susan) Shroyer; great-grandchildren, William, Allyson, Nicole, Nathaniel and Christopher. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday, October 12, 2001 at RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 515 High St., Worthington, where friends may call 1 hour prior to the service. Rev. Alan Sippel officiating. Private family interment. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to The Dale T.
