Filbert, Sr., Womelsdorf, Pa.; sisters, Mrs. John (Mary Etta) Yingst of Richland, Pa., Miss Jean Filbert of Diamond Bar, Calif. Member of Worthington United Methodist Church. Graduate of Penn State University, B.A.M.S. Ch. Former design engineer for the Hercules Powder Co. Research engineer, Division Chief, Manager of Property Development for Battelle Memorial Institute. Former resident consultant to the government of Chile. Member and Chairman of the Worthington Municipal Development Commission. Member of the Citizens Research Committee of Columbus. Member of the Mid Ohio Regional Planning Commission. Former member and president of Worthington City Council, Past President and Trustee of the Engineers Foundation of Ohio. Name Technical Man of the Year by Columbus Technical Council, 1957. Fellow of American Institute of Chemical Engineers (National Director 1971-1974.) Member of Ohio Society of Professional Engineers (Recipient of the Citation of Merit, 1967.) Member of Ohio Society of Professional Engineers (Recipient of the Citation of Merit, 1967). Member of the American Chemical Society, the Greater Columbus Chamber of Commerce, Phi Eta Sigma, Tau Beta Ti, Pi Mu Epsilon, and Phi Lambda Upsilon Fraternities. Editor of the Liquid Propellant Handbook, 1958. Veteran of WWII. Memorial service 4 p.m. Thursday Worthington United Methodist Church, Dr. W. Edge Dixon officiating. Private interment.
