Cleo L. Dumaree, 1908-1990

C.L. Dumaree, age 81, of Columbus, Saturday, July 14, 1990 Riverside Methodist Hospital. A Central Ohio educator for 45 years serving the Berlin Township (Delaware Co.) and the Columbus Public Schools. A teacher at North High School and principal of the East Columbus and Shepherd Elementary Schools, the Barrett Junior High School, Central and South high Schools. He was the assistant superintendent of administration and retired as the deputy superintendent in 1975. Mr. Dumaree was also a consultant to the Franklin County Juvenile Court and the director of the Bicentennial Activities for Central Ohio. He was a life member of the Parent Teachers Assoc. and was the past vice-president of the Ohio PTA. An elder with the Indianola Presbyterian Church and a member of the King Avenue United Methodist Church, Columbus Maennerchor, Columbus Downtown Kiwanis Club, the OSU Faculty Club, and the Columbus Parks and Recreation Commission. He was the past president of the Southside Organizations, past present of the Southside YMCA Board, the Rosemont School Advisory Board and the Old North Ni Club. Survived by wife, Betty Fry Dumaree; children, Diana (Ed) Boquist and Roger (Elizabeth) Dumaree; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends at the Rutherford-Corbin Chapel, 515 High Street, Worthington Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. and following the service at the church on Wednesday. Memorial service 11 a.m. Wednesday. Memorial service 11 a.m. Wednesday July 18, 1990 at the King Avenue united Methodist Church, 299 King Avenue, Columbus with Rev. Leonard Confar officiating. Private interment Walnut Grove Cemetery, Wednesday prior to the memorial service. Family request in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the C.L.
