Virginia Dill, age 95 of Columbus, died Wednesday November 8, 2023 at the Inn at Winchester Trail in Canal Winchester. She was born on February 28, 1928 in Columbus to the late Emery Sylvester and Laura Alice (Fields) Hetrick. Virginia was a member of the Worthington High School Class of ’46, graduated from The Ohio State University, worked for over 30 years at OPERS, was active in many ways with the Upper Arlington Lutheran Church, and Heritage Rail Trail in the Hilliard area. She enjoyed attending the Columbus Symphony Orchestra and Opera Columbus.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Emery Sylvester and Laura Alice (Fields) Hetrick, brother Emery Sylvester Jr and her husband James L. Dill Jr. Virginia is survived by her children Russell Dill, Martha “Marty” Moore, Craig (John Vargas) Dill, Janice (David) Rees, and Jeff Dill; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth (Craig) Rowles, Erik (Tara) Moore, Brandon (Kelly) Dill, Jessica (Raymond) Kadane, Derrick Dill, David J Rees, Andrew Rees, 9 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Monday November 13, 2023 from 11:00am to 1:00pm at the RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, 515 High Street in Worthington, where a funeral service will be held at 1:00pm with interment to follow at the Walnut Grove Cemetery with Pastor Zach White officiating. The family would like to thank Capitol City Hospice for their love and care for Virginia in her final days.
