Saphronia Marie Arnica Dennison, age 93, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2017 at Wesley Glen Retirement Center. She was born January 23, 1924 in Madison County, Kentucky. She will be deeply missed by her son, David (Julie) Dennison Jr., grandsons, Benjamin and Adam Dennison, nieces, Kathy (Marty) Murtha and Victoria Hudimac, nephew, Bill (Maureen) Arnica and many great nieces and nephews. Marie was educated in Akron, Ohio and graduated from Akron University where she was president of Alpha Lambda Delta and a member of Kappa Delta Pi honorary sororities, and a member of Zeta Tau Alpha social sorority. She attended The Ohio State University and Franklin University in Columbus. Marie was an elementary school teacher with Akron Public Schools and Columbus Public Schools for many years. During World War II she worked in the Expediting Dept. of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. She was a member of Allenside Presbyterian Church in Akron and, in Columbus, North Broadway Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Dennison Sr., daughter, Carol Sue Dennison (Steve), brother, William (Jean) Arnica and nephew, Paul (Dianne) Arnica. Calling hours will be held at RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME in Worthington from 5pm to 8pm on Tuesday, August 1. A private family burial will be held the following day.
