COLSTON Ervin "Mike" Colston, age 80, of Worthington, transitioned into God's loving embrace on July 15, 2010, at home. Preceded in death by mother Florence Dyson; siblings, Charles Dyson, Esther Bowley, Warren Palmer, Sr., and William Palmer. Survived by his loving and patient wife, of 59 years, Geneva; devoted daughter, Gayle Colston (Carlos) Barge; cherished grandsons, Darron LaMont Barge and Mario Miguel (Monique) Barge; brothers, James Dyson and Paul (Rohonda) Hamilton; sisters, Gertrude Sampson, Margaret Story and Dr. Rachel Parmley; cousin, Alice Richardson; host of nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Virginia McCammon and Ethel Traylor; brother-in-law, V.C. Laws, Jr.; special lifelong friend, David Caldwell; numerous extended family members and friends; lovingly supported by the Scott and Caldwell families. Served in the U.S. Army; Korean War Veteran and POW; Member of St. Michael Catholic Church; Retired from Western Electric; Proudly served as an Ohio State University red coat and usher; he loved wood working and bowling. Funeral mass on Thursday, July 22, 2010 at 12 noon, St. Michael Catholic Church, 5750 N. High Street, Worthington; Visitation from 11 a.m.-12 noon, prior to the service. Monsignor John Cody, Father Stash Dailey and Father Michael Watson, Concelebrants. Interment at Walnut Grove Cemetery. Heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Terry Slayman and the surgical/medical teams that provided compassionate care over the years. In gratitude for the loving care provided, the family requests donations in lieu of flowers to Mount Carmel Hospice, 1144 Dublin Rd., Columbus, OH 43215.
