Coralie Elizabeth Caron passed away on June 10, 2023 at Mount Carmel St. Ann’s Hospital. She was born on October 29, 1946 in Maysville, Kentucky, the daughter of Reuben D. and Esther E. O’Keefe Liggett of Georgetown, Ohio. Coralie was a 1964 graduate of Georgetown Exempted Village Schools and a 1969 graduate of The Ohio State University with a BA in English and a BS in Education. Coralie’s thirty-year career with the Columbus Public Schools included seven years at North High School and twenty-three years at Beechcroft High School teaching both English and German. I

n 1975 she married Frank Caron, the love of her life, with whom she spent nineteen wonderful years before his untimely death in 1994. Coralie is a former member of the board of trustees of the Willowick Condominium Unit Owners’ Association and is a longtime board member of the Worthington Women’s Club. She also had been a long time participant in the morning deep water aerobics class at the Westerville Community Center. She was a prolific reader including, on occasion, books written in German and Spanish. She and Frank enjoyed vacationing frequently in Maine and Key West. Early in her teaching career, she spent several summers in Germany immersing herself in the culture. She loved the Willowick community, her plants, nature in general and her cats, including her cat Boots, who survives.

Coralie was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Frank. She is survived by her sister Marian (Ken) Miller of Cincinnati, Ohio, her brother James G. (Pamela) Liggett of Sidney, Ohio, her sister-in-law Norma Andrews of Northland, Maine, and her step-daughter Kathi Kensington of Hutchins, Texas as well as three nieces and two nephews. She loved her ten grand nieces, and two grand nephews, eleven of whom survive. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 19, 2023 at the Rutherford Corbin Funeral Home, 515 High Street, Worthington, Ohio 43085 at 11:00 am and a memorial service will follow at noon. Burial will be at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Worthington, immediately following the service. Memorial contributions can be made to the charity of one’s choice.
