BURKHART Jean Burkhart, age 76, a long time Worthington resident, since 1951, passed to her eternal home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, July 23, 2004 at Grant Medical Center. She was a retired Administrative Assistant for Goodale Auto & Truck Parts Company. Preceded in death by her parents Harry and Minnie Smithberger and her brother Robert Smithberger. Survived by her loving husband of 55 years, C. Ray Burkhart; children, Debbie (Tom) Comer of Worthington, Dave (Theresa) Burkhart of Powell, Doug (Terre) Burkhart of Dublin and Darla (Jeff) Bohenko of Worthington; grandchildren, Jason, Nick, Mackenzie, Colleen, Andrew, Taylor, Marshall, Ian and Goldie; brother, Larry (Mary Lou) Smithberger of Marietta, OH; sister-in-law, Katherine Smithberger of Worthington; brother-in-law and wife, William and Debbie Burkhart of Lowell, OH; sister-in-law and husband, Shirley and Vernon Thomas of Lower Salem, OH; many nieces and nephews. Jean's memberships included: North Community Lutheran Church where she had been a member since 1951; Worthington Chapter #287 Order of the Eastern Star, where she served as Worthy Matron in 1973. She was also a member of Thebes Temple #87 Daughters of the Nile, Thea Court #5 Ladies Oriental Shrine of N.A., the Past Masters Ladies Unit of Aladdin Temple Shrine, Worthington Women's Club and Brookside Country Club. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2004 at North Community Lutheran Church, 114 Morse Road, Columbus with Rev. John Kindsvatter officiating. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery. The family will welcome friends at the RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, 515 High Street, Worthington on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., and one hour prior to the service at church on Wednesday. An Eastern Star Service will be held 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Her life was full of joy of friends, sincere concern for others and a warm sense of humor. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
