John Hawkins Buchan, Jr, age 96, of Willow Brook Christian Village in Delaware went to be with his Lord and beloved wife on March 3, 2021. He was born on October 25, 1924 to the late John H. and Marie (Ellis) Buchan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, JoAnne (Andrus) and his brother James Ellis and sister Donna JoAnn. He is survived by his brother, Robert (Martha). Born in Mingo Junction, OH he attended The Ohio State University and graduated from the Ohio College of Chiropody (now Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine) in 1948. He started his practice of podiatry in Clintonville and was married in 1950. He then moved his practice to the Hartman Theatre building in downtown Columbus to be part of the medical community. He had many roles in advancing the podiatric profession and had served as president of the state association. He served on the Ohio State Medical Board and for many years was active on many humanitarian boards. He was joined in practice by his two sons, John (Jack) and David, to form Central Ohio Podiatry Group. His passion was education and he was the ultimate provider for his kids' enrichment. He was an active overseas traveler with his family, yearly renting cars and pensiones while traveling the roads of Europe with kids and bags in tow. His favorite destinations in Europe were church steeples and museums! He was always a regular spectator to cheer on his grandchildren at their sporting events and was most happy when around his kids and grandkids. Since the passing of his wife he has been living at Willow Brook Christian Village where his care and the staff were par excellence. He and his wife were long time members of Liberty Presbyterian Church. His passing will leave a huge void in the lives of many, for his presence and wisdom were comforting to all. Children, Jack Buchan, David (Sue) Buchan, Lori (Brown) Crouch, Mark Buchan, Jennifer (Ron) Miracle. Grandchildren, Stephanie, Paul, Daniel (Maureen), Andrew (Morgan), Jack, Sarah (Garrett) and Shelby. Great grandchildren, Lily, Reed, Olive, Hattie, Max and Blake. A private graveside funeral service will be held for family members. On Saturday, March 20 the family will receive friends with a coronavirus sensitive celebration of his life at 1pm at Mozart's Café (https://mozartscafe.com/).
