We lost our beautiful mother this past Thursday. She tested positive for Covid-19 on July 3rd at the assisted living facility for memory care where she lived. On July 10th, she was still asymptomatic. On July 16th, we lost her. She was 92 years old. We celebrate the life of this amazing woman who dedicated her life to her family, her friends, her church, and her community. To borrow some words from family and friends, she was grand and gracious, a bright and beautiful soul, who’s sparkling eyes reflected kindness and strength. Her noble yet approachable bearing exuded kindness and intelligence. She was loved by all her knew her and was a big influence in their lives. Even as Alzheimer’s disease robbed her of her memories, she kept her loving, funny and giving disposition who loved to sing, and walker-dance. She greeted everyone with ‘Hi honey, how are you?’. Long after she recognized me as her daughter, I was a good friend who knew her a long, long time, or a fellow resident, or a staff member, or once in a brief lucid moment, ‘her little one’. Mom passed as she had lived, with dignity and grace. She will be greatly missed. Rest in peace Mom, we love you!
