Harold F. Blair, age 87, of Worthington died Sunday, June 2, 1996 Riverside Hospital. Retired from AT&T (Western Electric) in 1974 as Senior Electrical & Electronic Engineer after 32 years. Had served as chairman of the Institute of Electrical & Electronic Engineers, Columbus Section. Life member of The Ohio Society of Professional Engineers and The Telephone Pioneers of America. Served at President of Amateur Radio and Electronics Club. President of the Scandinavian Club of Columbus and also The Chancel Choir of Worthington United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir for 29 years. Played guitar in a trio in Chicago in the 1930s. Preceded in death by parents Albert & Nora Elizabeth Blair, wife Gladys & wife Edna; five brothers. Survived by wife of 23 years Geneva (Jenny) Newstrom Blair; daughter Margaret Mowery; step-son Roger (Carolyn) Newstrom; grandson & fiancé Chris Saylor & Danielle Florian; granddaughter Lucia Newstrom; sisters Anne Oldman & Blanche Jones, both of Chicago; sister-in-law Marjorie (Guy) Allbright, Vienna, Va.; brother-in-law Gib (Allene) Blackstone, Granville, Oh.; many nieces & nephews. Friends may call Wednesday 2-4 and 709 p.m. at the SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High St., Worthington, (1/2 mile S. of I-270). Funeral service 1 p.m. Thursday, June 6, 1996, Worthington United Methodist Church. Rev. Robert Chiles, Rev. Cynthia Adcock and Mr. Albert Adcock officiating.
