Mary "Mamie" Sartor Avant, age 84, of Columbus, died Sunday, September 20, 1998 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Mamie is survived by her husband of 59 years Dan Avant; children, John (Marti) Avant of Raleigh, N.C., Mary (Rick) Spencer of Columbus; grandchildren, Stacy Jowitt of Columbus, Daniel and Carmen Avant of Raleigh. Mamie was a member of Maple Grove United Methodist Church and a 34 year member of the Clintonville Woman's Club. Family will receive friends Wednesday from 6-9 p.m. at Rutherford-Corbin Funeral Home, 515 High St., Worthington, where funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, September 24, 1998 with Rev. Laurie Clark officiating. Interment Walnut Grove Cemetery. if they choose, friends may make memorial contributions to The ClintonvilleWoman's Club Memorial Fund, 3951 N. High St., Columbus, Oh. 43214, in Mamie's memory.
