Adams Ruth E. Adams, 88, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2016 at the hospital surrounded by her family. She lived at Friendship Village of Dublin for 11 years. Previously Upper Arlington, Ohio. She was born on January 27, 1927 in Hartford City, Indiana; her parents were Mary and Robert Henley. She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Charles W. Adams in 1988. Also by her sister Marian Goodwell and brother William Henley. She is survived by three sons, three granddaughters, and five great-granddaughters. John (Janis) Adams of Mason, Ohio, Steve (Elizabeth) Adams of Powell, Ohio and their daughters, Beth (Aaron) Bahe, of Upper Arlington, Ohio and Molly (Colin) Fenby of Marysville, Ohio and Jim Adams of North Canton, Ohio and his daughter, Jennifer Adams; her great grand-daughters, (in order of age) are Taylor Fenby, Evelyn Bahe, Allison Bahe, Harper Fenby and Piper Fenby. Ruth graduated from high school in 1944 in Hartford City, Indiana. She then graduated from DePauw University in 1948 where she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority, and she continued to be a life-long active alumna. She enjoyed a part-time career in social research. Ruth was a lifelong Presbyterian, and active member of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Upper Arlington, Ohio. She served as an elder, deacon, president, moderator of Presbyterian Women, long-time chairman of peanut brittle and was recognized by her church as "A Woman Who Makes a Difference." She liked playing bridge, quilting and knitting for her family. Ruth was a sports fan, especially the Cincinnati Reds and OSU Buckeyes. But most of all, Ruth was devoted to her family and they were to her. Her grand-daughters and great grand-daughters brought her a lot of joy, and she enjoyed spending as much time with them as possible. Her memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 16th at Noon at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 2070 Ridgecliff Rd, Upper Arlington 43221. Family members will receive visitors there as well from 10 a.m.- 12 Noon. Family has entrusted SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL with arrangements.
